Antiperspirants use ingredients like aluminum to block your pores, which prevents the sweat glands from letting the sweat out of your skin.
There have been many studies on aluminum salts found in antiperspirants. Some studies in the past have said there is no link between aluminum used in antiperspirants and breast cancer.
However, two new (2021) publications have confirmed the toxic effects of aluminum salts used in antiperspirants and their carcinogenic potential on breast cells.
A group of researchers carried out the studies from the Fondation des Grangettes and the University of Oxford, led by the Swiss scientists André-Pascal Sappino and Stefano Mandriota.
This study also indicates that aluminum salts are used in other cosmetic products and sunscreen.
Prevention is always essential to staying healthy. Using an Aluminum-Free deodorant is a good choice.
Here are a few brands to try:
- Secret Aluminum-Free Deodorant
- Edens Garden Fighting Five Natural Deodorant
- Lavilin Roll-On Aluminum Free Deodorant
You may need to try a few different kinds before finding the one that works best for you, but it’s worth it to have peace of mind. It’s always better to be safe than sorry!
